At the beginning of the month I promised to do a mid-month update with a December surprise.

I am thrilled to have a one month residency at the University of Lethbridge's Gushul Writer's Cottage in Blairmore, Alberta. It is going to be a wonderful opportunity to write, without distractions, for the entire month of December. A few of my projects are begging to be completed, including the final draft of the sequel to "The Aquamarine Necklace: A Janice Maidstone Mystery". I have a publication date in July 2026, so I need to get typing.
While I'm down in the 'Pass, I'm having an author event to promote "The Aquamarine Necklace: A Janice Maidstone Mystery" at Tuesdays Bookshop in Bellevue! www.tuesdaysbookshop.ca. Come have a chat, pick up a book, or have yours signed on December 17 at 6:30 pm.

I'll even have a few copies of the "The Dragon Problem" available. This is a young adult novel that came about as a collaborative project with nine other writers following a Lintusen Press workshop at When Words Collide Writer's Conference in August 2024. It's fun, it's lighthearted and tells the story of the village of Zos. It seems they have a dragon problem.
So that's it for my mid-month update. For my American friends, you're gearing up for the biggest feast (and shopping day) of the year. Check your closets to make sure you've got a belt big enough for the consequences of over-indulgence. If you don't, there's always the shopping.
For us in Canada, we're already dealing with our Thanksgiving, getting ready for the next feast at Christmas. Good luck to everyone.
